For the first time since 2007 the U.S. Men's National Team earned a victory over a South American team. It was a 1-nil victory over Venezuela and the goal came in second half stoppage time. It was scored by Ricardo Clark who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt. Check him out!

Tragic Loss.

On Saturday night the Twitter world was abuzz with tweets and reports that legendary coach Joe Paterno had died after a short battle with a form lung cancer. Word out of state college was that he had died so CBS published a story on their site that the reports were true. Then the Paterno family gave a statement that although he was in serious condition that Joe Paterno had not passed away. ESPN and other outlets only reported the condition but it's clear that CBS wanted to be the first to report the story and not the factual outlet to report the story. On Sunday morning just over two months after being diagnosed with a form of lung cancer, 85 year old, Joe Paterno did indeed pass away at 9:25. He was surrounded by his family and friends at State College Hospital, and after spending 46 years and nearly five decades of his life at Penn State, Joe Paterno's career may have ended in scandal but he is the winningest coach in major college football and there will never be another JoePa.  Thoughts and prayers to the Paterno family.

Love saves the day!

In NBA Action on Friday night the Minnesota Timberwolves traveled to LA to face the Clip Show. The T-Wolves trailed pretty much the entire game but they tied it up towards the end and Kevin Love was CLUTCH! He sank the game winning buzzer beater for a final of 101-98!!

Starting the year off right!

Friday night the U.S. Women's National Team played the Dominican Republic as they started CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying. Well, let's just say the ladies must have eaten their Wheaties because they beat the DR 14-0!! The team set a new record of most goals scored, in 1991, the USWNT hit a record of 12-0 in a World Cup Qualifier. Hear from Amy Rodriguez, Heather O'Reilly and Lauren Cheney after the match! Way to go ladies and good luck vs. Guatemala on Sunday!

Spillage.

LeBron James goes all out and sometimes he can't stop himself. Watch as he spills into the crowd and onto Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria, barely stays in his chair!

Lakers vs. Heat.

On Thursday night the Lake Show made a stop in Miami to take on LeBron James and the Heat. Prior to this meeting the Lakers were 1-4 on the road and they would leave Miami 1-5 after they were dominated by the Heat who were sans D. Wade, not to mention that James missed shoot around on game day with "flu like symptoms" riiigghhhttt, can you say head games?! Clearly he was feeling alright when the game started because he went for 31 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the Heat over the Lakers 98-87.

Tragic News.

On January 19, news broke of a devastating loss in the sports world.  Canadian freestyle skier Sarah Burke has passed away after injuries sustained during a training accident.  Burke has done so much for the sport, our thoughts go out to her family.

Raji & Rodgers team up.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and his teammate BJ Raji partner up for a State Farm commercial. Who knew this Packers squad was so mulit-talented, Super Bowl winning athletes who can act! I love it!

I suppose we should get used to seeing a lot of this from the Clip Show this season! CP3 on the fastbreak, as he finds Blake "The Poster Kid" Griffin for the alley-oop slam dunk!

Vinnie Jones has a message for YOU!

Former footballer and now actor Vinnie Jones wants you to know how to properly give CPR. I think this is absolutely brilliant. Jones plays that tough-guy role so well and he is still so appealing.

Delightful Dill.

Peter Dill, is a walk on for Seton Hall's Hoops Squad. He hasn't played much.....ever.....But he cheers harder than any mascot or cheerleader ever could. During their recent game vs. UConn, Dill, went off and brought his A game to the bench. Check him out...
